Our Story
Whether it's the corner coffee shop, the new taco truck, or a Michelin star restaurant, eateries drive the mood and spirit of our urban areas.
The idea for The Purple Bowl started after falling in love with açaí bowls during a family trip from Chapel Hill to California in 2016. When we got back, we began making açaí bowls at home because there were no options in Chapel Hill to buy one. We knew we had to bring our own version of an açaí concept to downtown and, after finding a space on Franklin Street, that dream became a reality.
The Purple Bowl’s success is because of our staff and customers. We feel lucky to have an amazing group of people come through the store, and we hope to see you soon!
